Movin’ and Shakin’ with Shutters

Shutters are an incredibly important camera control that a lot of people ignore.  Many cameras default to a fast shutter speed, freezing motion entirely.  Sometimes this is desirable, but many times a slower shutter speed can give you that sense of action and motion to a picture.  My basic digital students had to do an assignment recording motion with different shutters, and some of them came up with some great compositions and interesting subjects.  There were too many to post here, alas, but click on each image for a larger view of some class highlights!
