Creative Artist Accelerator Program

I got this email from City of Sacramento’s Art Office, and since I know we have a lot of photography students who plan on making this a side business, or who have other creative endeavors they make money from, I thought this is something definitively worth posting! 

Join us for the Sacramento Creative Business Innovation Challenge

Designed for BIPOC-founded creative businesses to take their expertise to the next level, this 6-week accelerator program is ideal for people ready to scale and achieve business growth, and provides the resources needed to take your business from surviving to thriving! This program is designed for growth companies in food, fashion, design, festival and cultural experiences, game design, film, media, music and entertainment (and more!). Spots are limited, and the deadline to apply is April 16, 2023.

This program is designed for growth companies in food, fashion, design, festival and cultural experiences, game design, film, media, music and entertainment (and more!). An intensive 6-week course, the program is ideal for people ready to scale and achieve business growth.

In this challenge, you will:
  • Get practical tools, resources, and support necessary to scale and achieve business growth.
  • Network and collaborate with other like-minded entrepreneurs, industry experts and potential investors.
  • Get access to global mentors who will have deep dive sessions where you can focus on specific aspects of your business.
  • Work on your business model, develop a pitch, and receive feedback from industry experts.
  • Have a support system that is there to help focus on key areas such as marketing, finance, and operations, helping you to develop a comprehensive strategy for growth.
  • Receive guidance on how to access funding and investment opportunities to help take your business to the next level.
  • Get ongoing support and mentorship even after the program is completed, which can be invaluable for you as you continue to grow and develop your business.

The Unseen Heroes Innovation Challenge fee is $95 per person. Payment in full or a payment plan option is available when you pay online upon completing this application.

NOTE: If you cannot afford this fee, you may instead submit a recommendation letter from a community leader (your Mayor, Pastor, Professor, Mentor, or other) who supports your entrepreneurial efforts.

Innovation Challenge Dates:
Program cohort meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9am – 10.15am Denver time zone.
  • Applications close: Sunday April 16th, 11pm.
  • On-boarding: Week of April 24th.
  • Online cohort meetings: Weekly (Tues/Thurs) MAY 1st thru JUNE 9th. Course meetings 9am-10.15am ONLINE!
  • Deep Dive: Thursday and Friday JUNE 8th 9am-3pm and JUNE 9th 1pm – 8pm.
